My boy

Just like animals

He sang in his

Excited little warble

Just like animals we are

And he being my offspring

I can agree that

We are

Just like animals

As he wiggled all around

Excited by a song

I was thinking about

How far I would go

To protect the nest

And my little ones

Just like animals we are

When you get right down to it

We are just a bit above

Some a bit below

Just like animals

But he doesn’t have to worry

About that

He just knows that

He likes a song

And while I think about

Weighty matters

He gets to wiggle to the music

I think I like it that way

Just like animals
