Walking the 8
Putting one foot
Of the other
Sounds simple enough
To me
Simply gazing upon
The world beyond
Through a window pane
Yeah
A window pane
Coated in mud
Glimpses of Infinity
Through mud covered
Lenses can be misleading
one
Simple
Foot
In front
Of the
Other
Walking the 8
While a deranged Painter
Slashes through you
With manic need
Is no simply kind
Of task for me

Every week, for the last one hundred and twenty seven, The mag has an image for writers to work from, something to create poetry or pros from. This week Tess selected Figure Eight, 1952, by Franz Kline, for us to create from. Please visit The Mag to see what others have done with the prompt.

hey man...life is not easy...anyone telling you different has not fully lived....walking the 8...i feel you there...
hope you are feeling better today...
It hasn't been real kind lately...
You really bring these prompts to life!
i'm not sure what i would have written to this image...but your perception...perfect.
love the last stanza!
This was really great. I am checking out The Mag now, but doubt I'd be able to be as creative as you.
Putting one foot in front of the other - that's what they called Ballin' the Jack back in the old days...
One foot in front of the other, towards infinity......I see the relevance in the 8 shape! Nicely said!
Do we get a cake or anything?
Putting one foot in front of the other isn't always easy... each step in the right direction is a major accomplishment for some. Keep on stepping and you will be rewarded!
nicely done.....thanks for sharing
Great write!!! Love Berowne's comment ... I can sing all the words to "Ballin'The Jack!"
' A window pane
Coated in mud'
bring out the windex! that's the first thing i thought. i must be an optimist at all costs. which can't be entirely true, since i'm old enough to know the ways of the world :^)
nice simple enough, chris ♥
Yeah, lenses can be misleading. The figure eight has you feeling you just keep going round and round, but... it is broken :).
If i were mud on a window pane, and a window cleaner came along, to me he would seem like a serial killer, thanks Wander !
Avery journey begins with one step...
