Sadness becomes me 6/21/11

Through my forest
Cold wind blowing
Tempting the few stragglers
Holding on as if
Life will flow
If only
If only it could
If only I could stretch
My winter bare arms in the sun
Dig my roots into the loamy soil
For now this cannot be
The sun is hiding
The ground is hard
Waiting for spring
Spring is not now
So for now
Sadness becomes me

This is has been a tough day, week, and year, but this is not a wholy down poem. There is hope yet, hope for spring, for life returning, and new blumes sprouting.Wandering down this path is a journey; around the next corner, on the other side of that hill lies hope. Or at least the hope that hope lies somewhere near.

Thank you for your expression. I reply.

A Reminder

I stumble along.
It's a muddy day.
In the mud are shards of grief,
sharp and gray at once,
set points up for me
to find with my bare skinned feet
so's I remember
what the hell happened
when I looked the other way.

Words have a healing of their own. When you master them, they become your voice. Make no mistake dear friend, you have a distinct voice (one which will stand out in the writing world).

I think the years of experience brew inside of us and write themselves when they're ready. This was hauntingly beautiful. A delicate balance of melancholy and hope. ~ Indy

I really felt your emotion in this.. very melancholy, but sorrow expressed so well!
There's hope to come in the form of spring, and birds, and blossoms on trees... Things will be lovely again...
