My spin on an Image...Mag pie tales

Solitude

I write with black letters
Across this my wall of
Solitude
Maybe she will

Maybe she will…what?
Come home, Stay away,
Bring the leaves back to this tree
And raise our pup with me
Clean up this mess
Left behind in her departure
At this point…I don’t care

I write with black letters
Across this my wall of
Solitude
Maybe she will

Raw emotion in this. A sense of too much pain tearing care from inside of him. Great take on the prompt!!

Hands down, my very favorite piece you have written. The way you wrapped this around, the metaphor, the ache, the regret, the reference to what was theirs together and what he is left with. Very effectively done. This is vulnerable. The best kind of writing. It reads as real. So much so, I believe it is.

nice...great pick up of the scrawled words...and the repetition is spot on...that is a great line....and emotive...

We always reach out whether we should or shouldn't... I like the message behind this... makes me wonder which path is the best path.

I love the vulnerability you've expressed and the emotional anguish. This is a beautifully expressed work, Chris. Thank you for sharing.

i totally love what 'she writes here now' has said. this writing is so raw and real that anyone can identity with how it feels.

i don't want to assume this is about you. but if it is i do want to say that you will get through this. it's part of the process. being with and by myself has terrified me sometimes, but it's been good for me. transitions are hard until you land on the other side of them.

love probably won't kill you. not loving probably might.

hang in, chris mr. wander. you have friends along the path.

love

I actually didn't see the printed phrase until I read others. Yours is well done...the repetitive stanza works well ~

You captured the spirit of the picture exactly...well done.

Read this and whispered into the 2:00AM quiet: "Oh god, that's beautiful."

It is my favorite of what I have read at your blog.

Those black letters across the wall were what caught my attention also. You made magic out of them.

I love this painting, I must say. I was in a winery with some artists work hanging on the walls. "Pretty dark stuff" said a friend. But it was me...inside so I understood the artist immediately though we will not meet.

But I digress. How long can we live in the shadow of 'maybe'? I try to like it there, because decisions and therefore movement are beyond my control. But they are not. To based our momentum on the ebb and flow of others makes for slow going. Not long I hope. Not long in that shadow.

Okay...I'll attempt to lighten the mood of the print.

'Expectant eyes stare up into mine, faithful and contrite. You know what you've done, my plant bare, branches chewed. You hung your head, led me to the evidence when I returned home, daring a piteous, chocolate-hued peek into my eyes.
My expression reproves you, no words need pass between us. Yet I cannot truly remain angry; your patient, pleading brown eyes beg forgiveness, await my capitulation with eager anticipation. The idea of broken relationship, with me - your master - was chastisement enough.
I fling one last reproachful glance before I welcome you anew. I will rub your silken coat, give voice to the comforting tone of love - and heal your sorrow. All is well my faithful companion.'

Schultz that is good! Thanks for the loving ode...

Thanks kj...and Brian, I am hanging in there:-)
This was not about me/but was...just the parallels that the image evoked in me.

Thanks, Chris. The image reminded me of my own German shepherd, Zutchka. One day I arrived home - he's always at the door waiting for me. Anyway, he followed me toward the kitchen, and as we walked closer, he hunkered down lower and lower to the floor until he was practically army crawling as I neared the counter. He had eaten some chicken I had left cooling on the counter. I believe the look in that fellow's eyes in the image is what I might have looked like when staring at my dog. And like I described, his eyes told me that he knew he had done wrong. It was so heartfelt. Anyway...what could I do but forgive him? Ha!
