under water

as if in parade rest
backs straight 
chest forward 
hard of hearing we strain
to catch the latest news 
chin up 
arms down
we stand stoic
so that others can 
see how it is done
come join us
be as one 
with waves stirred
by falls sun
and winter's moon
held captive 
by tidal pull
