Fishing for hearts
I went to the bank today
Red Spot II, Wallisy Kandinsky |
On how to say
I have need
I am fishing for hearts today
I would rather
Talk of the one I caught
Than
The one that got away
I’m fishing for hearts today

have fun fishing.
I LOVE this! On of your best for me with, with it's clarity and heart on the sleeve approach to life. Why not state it as it is? Somebody please love me. Anyone????? Saying we have need is the hardest thing, until it's done. Then it is an orgasmic release....the end of which trails "why haven't I done this before?"
i hope that you catch the perfect one...and its best to focus on the one in hand than the one that got away...some are just not meant to be
Thanks Annie, the prompt had a kind of feel to it that got me thinking of a spanish pesant fisherman, sitting on the bank with his pole deciding that today he was going to stop lamenting his past and search for his future. I know almost none of that is actually in the poem but if you look in the painting you may be able to see what set up that immagry for me...
thanks Kj this poem had no personal meaning, it was all about the immage I saw in the painting....
I am not fishing my self, but in here there is a fictional Spaniard looking for love but stoped by his past
Brian thank you as well
thanks, but I hate fishing....
I am glad to hear that:-)
Thanks for comming by...
Tell that to the spaniard I think he would be comforted to hear that
Thanks for comming by
I could run with that one but I think for the kids sake I will abstain...thanks for comming by...
Fishing for hearts..I would rather talk of the one I caught than the one that got away...so true...a great write!
I too, got out my fishing rod! LOL
"fishing for hearts", this is beautiful!
Oh, I like this!
And so timely.
=)
This is so unique and lovely. Well done. : )
Great poem,love it!
Nice way of looking at it...though tempting is the one that got away ~
I think you caught us hook, line and sinker, with this Mag! :)
Lovely, your use of the repetition. Simple, but it stays in the mind.
Lovely stuff! Hope you caught that heart.
Anna :o]
I would not think the bank was the best place to fish for hearts. Very clever phrasing re 'the one that got away' Well penned (er...typed).
I loved the bauble and bounce of this one! With all those shapes and colours, here's hoping it was a vibrant heart getting reeled in!
Your words, Kandinsky, magical :-)
Thanks Ben! Your profile pic...Magical!
What a unique take on this Kandinsky painting! This is fun-spirited with a bit of a lonely twist to it; I like.
