Painted

Painted in red, orange
And green
Across this Black and white
Landscape
We strive to get Just another few Feet
To the next hillock
               Run
Keep your head Down
I think you will find
The power of peace
Is not a thing of
                    fiction
But takes more time
        And effort
Than the power of steel
The best defense
Is a good offence they say
One day I hope to find
With this flower
I will have my way

"the power of peace is not a thing of fiction but takes more time and effort than the power of steel" Some powerful lines in this Chris. Brilliant and true!

Was it Harold Pinter that stated that democracy is not a thing but a state of grace , hard to introduce but even more difficult to maintain , with a constant holding if tension by all parties cncerned, which is where we seem to be failing , sadly

Peace seems to be the most elusive thing around the world this time we're in...

Have you ever read, "Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance" by Robert M. Pirsig? Your words and ideas in this remind me so much of the beauty of that book....the idea of always looking ahead to the next hillock...concepts of peace and meaning. Profound.
